BSU Care Team
The Bridgewater State University Care Team is a multidisciplinary team of experts and points of contact that intervene on behalf of students. The team meets regularly as a mechanism to improve coordination and communication for the academic success, health and safety of the community (HEMA, 2013). The Care Team is not an crisis or immediate response team. If you have an emergency or something that needs immediate attention, contact the University Police at 508-531-1212 or 911 from a campus phone line. The Care Team is one entity in a larger BSU network which relies heavily upon the University Police, the Office of Community Standards (previously named Student Conduct Office), the Counseling Center, the Office of Residence, Life and Housing, the Office of Student Affairs, the Office of Academic Affairs and the campus-wide reporting of student concerns.
The Care Team is not a disciplinary body, nor is it a committee for routine classroom management issues. The BSU Care Team is focused on emergent situations of concern that are recurrent and remain unresolved at the department, academic college or divisional level.
The goal of the Care Team is to create and maintain a safe campus environment by identifying exacerbating conditions and by referring these students to appropriate resources (on and off-campus) or to authorities for action.
FOR NON-EMERGENCY student concerns, contact the Office of Student Affairs, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm at 508-531-1276. Further information and the Care Team reporting form can be found on the campus intranet at https://my.bridgew.edu/CareTeam
FOR EMERGENCY situations requiring an immediate response (risk to self, others or the community), or for concerns beyond standard business hours, contact the University Police at 508-531-1212 or 911 from a campus phone line.
